Aldea Global accepted the invitation by ONF Andina and Corpocesar to attend the Workshop “Economic valuation of environmental servicesâ€, held in the city of Valledupar, department of Cesar, Colombia.
Aldea Global’s Executive Director shared the Program proposal for compensation of environmental services which was developed by this institution with resources provided by the Government of Finland to the Program for Sustainable Forest Management in the Andean Region, led by IICA Colombia.
This proposal which had the kind support from an array of institutions such as ECOPETROL, Corpocaldas, and the National University of Colombia, is built around a strategy of participation from different sectors of civil society.
Other important experiences were shared by the Institute Alexander von Humboldt, the Fondo Patrimonio Natural, the university Of Rosario, ONF Andina and the government of Cesar department. The workshop proceedings can be found here:
