The sustainable use of land is now one of the main priorities of world leaders; Doralice Ortiz, CEO of Aldea Global, participated in a major event held in Bonn, Germany, in which attended more than 1000 people from 104 countries, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, businessmen and communities. Experiences and lessons learned were exchanged in order to contribute to the sustainability of landscapes in the world.
One of the themes of the Forum was the AFR100 program, a platform for cooperation among African countries and a wide range of multilateral, international, development cooperation, research and environmental organizations. AFR100 currently supports 26 African countries in the implementation of ambitious goals to recover 86 million ha of degraded forests and landscapes. The main results of the Forum have been the linking of a large number of organizations and the projection of results over time. See more:
“The movement for sustainable landscapes is expanding beyond our annual event, with regular activities to connect people as well as online events. We are very proud of what the GLF has achieved so far and we will continue to build on its role as a catalyzer for public-private partnerships, youth engagement, knowledge sharing and action on the ground.â€
