Corporaci贸n Aldea Global is a non-governmental organization that promotes sustainable development. We have extensive experience in implementing projects that contribute to the improvement of living standards in rural communities and indigenous and afro-Colombian territories in Colombia. Aldea Global has delivered lasting results in many areas such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, payment schemes for environmental services, hydrographic watershed planning, forest management and governance, industrial reconversion, among others.
The expertise of Corporaci贸n Aldea Global is based on participatory strategies, social engagement and empowerment, focused on gender and generations, as key factors for achieving sustainability. Our rights-based approach involves rural and tribal communities from the start with better communication channels, stronger interaction with public and private institutions. This is especially important for minorities and poor farming communities, our main partners in the development of projects.
The Corporaci贸n Aldea Global started national and international operations in June of 2000. Its main office is in the city of Manizales, department of Caldas, Colombia. An additional office operates in the city of Armenia, department of Quind铆o.
Mission
Our mission is to develop and implement projects for socio-economic and environmental development, by applying a local, regional, national and international approach, by using participatory and collaborative methodologies which focus on the environmental sustainability of actions and which drive the improvement of living standards in the communities we support.
Vision
By 2020, Corporaci贸n Aldea Global will be acknowledged, at national and international scale, for its contributions to the empowerment of men and women as stakeholders of their development, and to its contributions to and influence on the design of socio-economic and environmental policies, based on the constitution and rule of law.
